If you work with Java in Panama or Latin America, you have probably seen technical events that take place only in English. But this October 16 is different: JakartaOne Livestream 2026 Spanish is a virtual conference entirely in Spanish, focused on Jakarta EE and the technologies that build the modern Java web.

You do not need to be an expert to attend, and if you have something to share, there is still time to submit a talk. Here is what it is, when it happens, and how you can participate.

What is JakartaOne Livestream?

JakartaOne Livestream is a one-day virtual conference for developers and technical leaders who want to understand the current state and future of Jakarta EE and related technologies.

The event focuses on cloud-native technologies for enterprise Java applications. It is not a superficial webinar; the talks go into technical depth while remaining accessible to different experience levels.

The first JakartaOne Livestream took place in 2019, exclusively in English. Since 2020, the international community has organized regional editions in other languages, including Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. The 2026 edition marks the fourth edition entirely in Spanish, organized by the Eclipse Foundation Jakarta EE Working Group.

When and what is this edition like?

Who is it for?

JakartaOne Livestream is for anyone who works with or is interested in working with Java in enterprise contexts. There is no minimum experience level.

The conference covers sessions at three different levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. If you are new to Jakarta EE but have worked with traditional Java for some time, there are talks designed for you. If you already use Jakarta EE in production, you will find sessions with greater technical depth.

All you need is:

  • An internet connection
  • Approximately an hour and a half in your schedule (talks are 45 minutes, including Q&A)
  • Curiosity about Jakarta EE and cloud-native development

I want to give a talk. How do I apply?

The event is open to talk proposals. Sessions are selected by an independent program committee made up of volunteers from the Jakarta EE and cloud-native Java communities across Latin America.

Call for proposals details

Topics they are looking for

The committee is looking for talks about:

  • New features and advances in Jakarta EE and related specifications
  • Developer productivity: testing, DevOps, and best practices in Jakarta EE applications
  • Open source contributions and community experiences
  • Success stories from organizations using Jakarta EE in production
  • Cloud-native applications built with Jakarta EE
  • AI and machine learning integrations with Jakarta EE applications

You do not need to be a Java Champion to speak. If you have practical experience with any of these topics and something valuable to share with the community, your talk is welcome.
